Thanksgiving Re-hab
It’s Thanksgiving, you said. Sure, everyone has second helpings of mashed potatoes and stuffing. Mom made four different pies. She’d feel insulted if any of them were not completely demolished. So you had four pieces of pie just to be polite. Yes, you have no one to blame but yourself. You were so full that once you laid down on the sofa, you couldn’t get up to change the radio station and you missed your favorite WSHD-LP Eastport program, Blues For Your Pocket, With Catherine.
That’s how you wound up here in Thanksgiving Rehab. The freezing hayloft dormitory. The farm chores. You break the skim of ice in the watering trough to wash up and have a bowl of plain oatmeal.
